Founder's Message

30th Anniversary Address by the Founder
Reflecting on the Past, Envisioning the Future
So much gratitude, so many thanks, and moments of deep emotion.
Thirty years may be a mere blink of an eye to the universe, and perhaps just the beginning for an organization; but for every colleague who has contributed to Excel International Services, it has etched an indelible mark on our lives. Since our founding in 1989, we have not only aged by thirty years, but we have also gained three decades of experience and wisdom. On behalf of the company, I offer my sincere thanks to all our clients, suppliers, team members, families, and friends. It is your continuous encouragement, recognition, and validation that have empowered us to maintain our passion for education and training, and to tirelessly promote the philosophy of learning.
Reflecting on Taiwan’s economic environment, our previous generation of political and business leaders worked tirelessly, step-by-step, to create the "Economic Miracle" of the 1980s. While the current generation of leaders attempts to replicate those extraordinary achievements, we have not yet succeeded to significantly improve the economy, social structure, national income, or employment rates.
The biggest issue over the past thirty years is that both enterprises and the government have lacked foresight. Many have been content with imitation and contract manufacturing (OEM) while being reluctant to invest in R&D and training and learning. Although individual educational attainment is high, practical ability and contribution remain low, resulting in low-cost products and meager profits. While the government and citizens invest heavily in primary to university education, most companies fail to plan comprehensive training for graduates entering the workforce or invest in talent development. Consequently, employees cannot fully utilize their talents, businesses struggle to grow, and Taiwan remains stagnant.
Our Mission & Impact: We founded Excel International Services with the intention of fostering a culture of training and learning. We actively develop training curricula specifically suited for Asian enterprises to enhance corporate capabilities efficiently. Over these thirty years, Excel International has made its own modest contributions, coaching hundreds of companies and tens of thousands of executives.
Some clients have entrusted us with training all their managers since their inception, leading to successful IPOs over a decade later.
Others, through our assistance, have broken through barriers in fiercely competitive environments.
Some enterprises have consistently used our "Combat Simulation" courses for years, doubling their market value in just five years.
Every instance of recognition and praise from our clients touches us deeply.
The "222" Vision for the Future: In truth, if the government and enterprises are willing to invest just a few more resources into training, we can enhance everyone's knowledge, creativity, and ability. This drives team synergy, organizational change, corporate image, and profitability. Through learning, society and businesses can build a virtuous cycle and create economic growth for all.
Looking ahead to the next thirty years, Excel International will provide courses on self-improvement, investment, leadership, and internationalization for the general public, while continuing to develop the most effective training solutions for our corporate clients.
I have a proposal: Let us launch the "222 Corporate Brain Evolution"!
Companies should invest 2% of total payroll and benefits into Learning and Training.
Every colleague should dedicate 2% of their working hours to learning.
Everyone should learn at least 2 new fields of knowledge each year.
This approach will grow employee wisdom and evolve the corporate "brain." We will assist you using our highly effective "Combat Simulation Training."
Let Learning Drive Earning. Effective and creative learning will surely bring immense returns. Let us work together to create another economic miracle for Taiwan!
Thank you!
Founder, Professor Peter C. Kuo
